Early December, the Diocese received a donation of 430 pieces of multi-coloured illuminous statues of Our Lady for charity sale to support the Diocesan fund-raising initiatives.
As we cannot promote it at the parishes due to the pandemic, the Commission worked through social media. Much to our pleasant surprise, the statues were very popular and they were all subscribed within just a week or so; thus helping the Diocese to raise a total of $86,000. All proceeds will be passed onto the Diocesan Fund-raising Commission for Church Building and Development.
Faithful who has collected the statue said it is a beautiful gift especially when Christmas is around the corner. It helps them meditate the birth of Jesus with his tent pitched among us.
The Commission records our most sincere thanks for the donor and the faithful who have generously supported us.
